About GBI – Great Basin Industrial

Company History

GBI was founded in 2006 by seasoned industry veterans Scott Kent and Jeff Murray.  They shared a simple but powerful vision to deliver high-quality products and service for customers’  plate steel construction needs.  Their combined expertise was instrumental in gaining repeat customer business which fueled rapid company growth.  To sustain that growth, key senior managers with complementary skills and backgrounds were recruited to the company in 2008 and 2009.  The company purchased a fabrication facility in 2010, and completed major plant expansions in 2014.  In response to customer demand GBI developed additional service solutions to include maintenance & repair, refractory, tank foundations, piping, railroad maintenance, and industrial coatings.  GBI is now a trusted provider of turnkey design, fabrication, industrial construction and repair services.

GBI continues to attract veteran industry managers and employees who share our company vision, mission and values.  Looking to the future, we will stick to our roots while continuously building our people, process and systems to retain our leading position.
